Cookie Policy
Our cookie policy and how we use them
Effective: August 28, 2026
This policy explains how the acrylic website uses cookies and browser storage. In this document, “cookies” also includes similar browser-storage technologies such as localStorage.
Our approach
- We use storage only for sign-in, security, and interface settings you choose.
- We measure marketing-page usage with PostHog in cookieless mode. Analytics does not store an identifier in cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage.
- We send only page paths and explicitly defined conversion events.
- Analytics events exclude document content, prompts, file names, email addresses, full URL queries, and form input.
- We do not use advertising, retargeting, session recording, heatmaps, or automatic click capture.
Essential storage
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token | Cookie | Maintain sign-in sessions and authentication security | Based on session settings; removed on sign-out |
Functional storage
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
theme | Cookie | Remember the display theme you select | 1 year |
sidebar_state | Cookie | Remember the sidebar state in signed-in areas | 7 days |
auth_last_method | localStorage | Indicate the last sign-in method used | 30 days |
auth_last_method stores only the sign-in method and OAuth provider, not an email address. Language is managed in the current URL path.
Cookieless audience analytics
acrylic uses PostHog to understand marketing-page visits and key conversions. Instead of leaving a persistent identifier in the browser, PostHog uses the IP address, browser information, hostname, and a value that changes daily to create a one-way hash on its server. Person profiles and account identification are disabled.
| Provider | Browser storage | Purpose | Server retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| PostHog | None | Measure page visits and limited conversion events | Up to 12 months from collection |
Your controls
acrylic respects the browser's Do Not Track signal. You can also block analytics scripts or network requests with browser or content-blocking tools. Blocking essential storage may prevent sign-in from working, while blocking functional storage may stop your selected settings from being remembered.
